Basecamp 2-Factor Authentication Set up – Protect & Secure Account

Basecamp 2-Factor Authentication Set up is to add an extra layer of security to Basecamp login . Apart from password , some other set of information is needed to access or connect online.

Two factor authentication is also called 2 steps verification or multi factor authentication. The reason for giving this name to it is because , some other set of information is needed to login.

For anyone who have an account with this American software service needs to set or enable two factor authentication for an extra layer of security to Basecamp account.

Two-factor authentication or (2FA) is a known step toward better and extra layer of security. It works beyond using a strong and only a regular password anytime you  want to log in  , that’s known as single-factor authentication.

The service has built their our own secure 2FA connection protection that normally works and connect for all the version of Basecamp.

Any unauthorized attempt made on the account with another device , two factor authentication will hinder it from taking place. They will ask for the code sent during the time of authentication.

How to Set Two Factor Authentication on Basecamp

 

To set two-factor authentication or 2fa to secure account by going to avatar

  1. Clicking on the  My Profile.
  2. On your normal profile, click on the link which connects to Change your login info here.

  3. Next page, click on the Set up 2FA and go with the on-screen prompts. Try to make sure to save your all the necessary recovery codes. You’ll then want those codes to connect to the account in case you lose log in with an authenticator app. 

  4. Go with the steps and guide after you click on  button, and then you should be up and going with an 2FA.

 

In case you don’t have any recovery code,  you can login a different browser services , then you can now get recovery codes and then you can as well update or even disable two-factor authentication settings.

  1. Click on the avatar .
  2. Select on  My Profile.
  3. Click on link at the bottom side of that goes  with  Change login info here.
  4. Click on the View recovery codes to get a single-use code or even Change 2FA settings... Then you can get to configure an authenticator app or even disable 2FA.
