Keeper 2-Factor Authentication Set up – Protect & Secure Account

Keeper 2-Factor Authentication Set up is to add an extra layer of security and protection to your Keeper password manager account.

In case you have an account with Keeper , please try to enable and setup two factor authentication from this step and guide in order to secure account.

Two factor authentication is also called 2 steps verification or multi factor authentication. The reason for giving this name to it is because an additional code is needed to access or login account once its authenticated.

A pascode will be sent inside the phone number that was used to authenticate account, without passcode you can not access or login account with another device or mobile browser.

2 factor authentication will add an extra layer of security and protection to your account. Once its

2fa can be setup via Keeper’s Role-based Enforcement rules and can be enabled by the end-user via in their various vault. Keeper supports and adds popular platform of 2FA including:

  • Text Message

  • TOTP generator apps like Google and Microsoft Authenticator

  • Duo Security

  • RSA SecurID

  • Keeper DNA ( Apple Watch and Android Wear devices)

  • U2F-based physical keys such as Yubikey

How to Setup Two Factor Authentication on Keeper


  • Click  account email address at the upper right corner of vault, then click on Settings > Security

  • Enable 2FA and click on the Edit Two Factor to activate a standard 2FA platform. This will be used as the backup method each time your Security Key is not really supported . Google Auth or TOTP should be able to  used a backup way  rather than SMS, or you will receive short SMS code every time you want login with Security Key. Keeper recommends using  TOTP (Google Authenticator or equivalent) generator or even create two-factor authentication to eliminate possibility of SIM takeover attacks.

  • From previous Security menu, click on the Setup next to Security Keys.

  • Follow  on-screen prompts, provide a name for your own Security Key and select on Register.

  • If Security Key has a button or gold disc (e.g. Yubico), press the button to register.
